  1. Gold: anticorrosion, workability, burnishability, greater cost, yellow color
  2. Palladium: greater strength, increased hardness, anticorrosion, greater melting point, & greater sag resistance.
  3. Platinum: greater strength, increased melting point, increased hardness, & increased sag resistance.
  4. Silver: decreased melting point & decreased CTE relative to porc.
  5. Indium: oxygen scavenger.
  6. Iridium: grain refiner.
  7. Nickel: replaces Au is base metal alloys, increased CTE, & carcinogenic.
  8. Beryllium: decreased melting point, increased hardness, & carcinogenic.
