COATED ABRASIVE

Coated abrasives are mostly discs, which have a thin layer of abrasive cemented to a flexible backing. This allows the instrument to confirm to the surface contour of a tooth or restoration. Unlike the moulded instrument, coated abrasives have to be discarded once they wear off.
