6 Stages in Functional waxing of occlusal morphology

The occlusal morphology of posterior teeth can be waxed up by adding wax in 6 specific and progressive stages.

These six stages are:
  1. Cones (Cusp positions) PKT no. 1                           Yellow Wax
  2. Marginal & Cusp ridges PKT no. 1                           Blue wax
  3. Buccal & lingual ridges PKT no. 1                            Red Wax
  4. Axial Contours PKT no. 1 &4                                  Green Wax
  5. Triangular ridges PKT no. 1                                      Red Wax
  6. Supplemental anatomy PKT no. 1,3 & 5                   Green wax
