a. location: deep to anterior belly of the digastric and superficial to the geniohyoid
b. origin: mylohyoid line of mandible
c. insertion: a median raphae that extends from the symphysis of the mandible to the hyoid bone.
d. action: when mandible is fixed, it draws the hyoid bone forward and upward.
When the hyoid is fixed, it aids in depressing the mandible.
